Farmstand is open 24/7. Cash, check and Venmo are accepted.
SPACE on Ryder Farm, the nonprofit residency program and certified organic farm, has opened its roadside farmstand to the public for the 2020 harvest season. Local customers can buy fresh organic vegetables, herbs and flowers as they become available through the season which will conclude October 31st (subject to change). SPACE is proud to provide the community with a food source that is organic, safe, clean and reliable in this time of uncertainty and food supply strain.
SPACE’s farmstand is located at 406 Starr Ridge Road. Parking is available directly in front of the stand. Payments for the fresh organic produce can be made in cash, check or, new as of 2020, Venmo. The farmstand is lighted to make shopping available 24 hours a day and is restocked with fresh produce on Tuesdays and Fridays. Any produce that is not sold is donated to community partner Second Chance Foods each week.
You are welcome to join SPACE in supporting the community in a variety of ways. Beginning on August 7th through August 14th, SPACE will donate 100% of the proceeds from farmstand sales to Putnam Community Action Partnership (Putnam CAP). Putnam CAP, a local nonprofit and anti-poverty program focused on serving the residents of Putnam County, is currently holding a gift card drive for parents and students for the upcoming school year. Putnam CAP partners with SPACE’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture + Art) in the effort to make fresh, organic and local food more accessible to all. Also, you can help SPACE ensure that everyone in the community has access to healthy food by making a donation to the Friend of the Harvest Fund. The fund underwrites Ryder Farm CSA shares for neighbors in need. Make a donation over $50 and receive a free 2020 Ryder Farm hat (shipping not included).

SPACE on Ryder Farm is a nonprofit residency program and organic farm located on the grounds of a 225-year-old family homestead in Putnam County, New York, just an hour north of New York City. SPACE’s mission is to create an environment singular in its ability to invigorate artists and innovators and their work, and to contribute to the sustainability and resourceful preservation of one of the oldest organic family farms on the East Coast.
Furthering its commitment to the sustainability of Ryder Farm, in 2019 SPACE took on management of the organic farming operations, spearheading a unique new model for reciprocity between the arts and agriculture. In addition to the CSA Membership, produce from Ryder Farm is available for purchase at SPACE’s self-service roadside stand on Starr Ridge Road in Brewster throughout the season.
